A Favorite For Friday; Initially Obsessed

I am packing for my honeymoon... and there is a trend happening in my suitcase. Initials! I am obsessed with my new initials. Necklaces, sweaters, hats, and bags... if I like it then I'm putting my initials on it!

I bought this sweater from C.Wonder.
I made this shirt down the shore with JT at the Shore Store :)
Necklace from Fredrick Engraving- love it!

A Favorite For Friday; Documented Photo Booth Fun

I didn't realize what a great idea having a photo booth at our wedding was, until we got the photos back from our photographers. Those photos ended up being my favorite from our big day. I loved seeing that everyone we love had so much fun.

I took all of the photos and made a huge 12x12 book out of them. I haven't even thought about our wedding album and I already made a book out of the photo booth pictures. What can I say, they are way more fun!

I love our photo booth album!
Happy Friday!

Activity Boxes For Our Littlest Wedding Guests

To invite kids or not to invite kids to your wedding... This is a topic that people usually have very strong opinions about. I do not think that there is a right or wrong answer here. It's your wedding, if you want to invite kids, invite them. If you don't, then don't. It's your wedding, do what makes you happy.

For JT and I this was a very easy decision. We invited children and we were very glad we did.

Right after we had gotten engaged our first family holiday was Thanksgiving. We pulled up to JT's cousin's house to find 2 of her children in the front yard waiting for us. As soon as we stepped out of the car, Isabella (who was 7 at the time) shouted "OH MY GOSH I AM SO EXCITED FOR YOU CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!" (while her younger brother ran in circles of excitement around her). There was no way we could exclude these littlest family members, I think they were more excited for us than some of the adults that were going to be invited.

So we decided we would invite children and we made sure their names were on the save the dates to make sure that everyone knew right away. We still got a few calls questioning us "You are inviting the kids?!" Yep!

Our venue was the perfect place for kids to enjoy. It had hills to run up and down and a lake to skip stones. Plus we had lawn games (Giant Jenga and Cornhole), smores, a photo booth and of course dancing.

There was a lot going on at our wedding to keep them happy & busy but we decided to put together activity boxes to get them through dinner and the toasts. Lets face it sometimes even adults can't sit through the toasts!

I made nameplates for each of the gable boxes to match the colors of our wedding.

The items in the boxes for the boys.

Fun items for the girls activity boxes.

Lilly Pulitzer Color-A-Puzzle

I put a blank card and envelope in each box with a note asking them to draw a card for us.
A few of the kids actually did it and it was fun finding them in our card box!

The boxes were fun to put together and I think the kids (and their parents) appreciated them.

Cruisers, Hot Rods, & Muscle Cars

There is something so wonderfully summery about a car show. A great show is held in Lyndhurst, NJ every Saturday from May through October at Whiskey Cafe. I have gone 3 times and it is always a different mix of cars and they always play fun oldies music from greats like Chuck Berry and The Beach Boys.

There are A LOT of cars and not just 1 of each model! I think I counted 10 Chevelle Super Sports! There are also cars that are not so old- new Cobras and cars from the 80's that have been restored to perfection. I saw a Camaro that my grandmother had in the 80's, it looked like it had just been driven off the lot. Really, it looked brand new! And the engines in some these cars are just gleaming. So clean and meticulously maintained they sparkle.

If you are looking for different date idea, this is a great one. It's free, it's sexy (have you seen the lines & curves on these cars? wow.), and the music will make you wanna hold hands.

Day Tripping; Jersey Shore

Today we headed down the shore  for a beach day! It was our first visit since super storm Sandy. It hasn't been restored to it's full glory, but they definitely have made significant progress which made me really happy.

We relaxed on the beach at Island Beach State Park for a few hours and then drove to Seaside Heights so I could get my boardwalk fix. I have to visit a boardwalk at least once a year and my one requirement is that we play skeeball. We played skeeball (& gave our tickets to a little kid) got custard at Kohr's (sooo good!) and made a shirt at Shore Store (you know, the one made famous by MTV).

We packed so much fun into 1 day that I really can't believe it's only Saturday! We still have another day off to enjoy! Happy weekend!

Happy Birthday JT!

It's my husband's birthday! I made this card to give him a hint to help him guess his gift.

Any ideas? Well, JT prefers experiencing something memorable rather than getting an object that might eventually lose it's appeal as a gift. So, I got him a luxury car to drive for a day. I asked him his favorite car months and months ago and he said Ferrari. So I made the card with famous movie/tv characters who had memorable moments with a Ferrari. But then after I gave him the gift (he was totally stoked by the way) he went online and looked at the list of cars available and is now considering driving an Aston Martin instead. I guess I should have made a James Bond cake? Oh well, I am sure he will change his mind a few times between now and when he gets to drive it. But I can't blame him, the list of cars is amazing!

I made the pennant banner. I cut card stock with pinking shears, and colored checkered flags with a sharpie then I strung them on bakers twine and suspended it between 2 straws.

My attempt at making the cake checkered. Far from perfect, but it tastes delicious!

Happy Birthday JT!
