Dahlias & Puppy

This is my first year growing dahlias, and it has been so rewarding! I have made a lot of arrangements with them, and my son loves playing with the flowers! I decided to make a necklace for my puppy out of some of the flowers I cut today! She is so sweet :)

She was given a lot of cookies for the hard work she put in modeling for me!

Puppy Turns 12

When I was pregnant with my son and decorating his nursery, I had wanted to put a framed photo of our dog, Samardzija in there somewhere. For whatever reason, I forgot about it and never put a photo of her in his room. When their birthday rolled around this year (yes, they both have the same birthday!) I remembered and thought it would be great to get a photo of them in the nursery having a little birthday party.

My husband made the neon 12 for me with his 3D printer. And I bought a plain white cake at Wegmans and decorated it myself with some colorful sprinkles.

The sweetest babes ever.

Two bites, and the cake was gone! Then she licked the plate for 10 minutes.

Gender Reveal Party For Baby T

This past weekend my husband and I hosted a very small get together for some of our family.... to announce the gender of our BABY!

Our first baby, Samardzija Puppy, anxiously waiting to hear if she is going to have a brother or sister.

I made the boy or girl onesie banner and it is available in my shop!

We filled aqua vases with hot pink roses and tulips. I sprinkled the table with pink and blue onesie confetti and decorated the chandelier with little matching onesies on gold hangers.

We hung our ultrasound photos with mini clothespins over the punch bar. I made two flavors of punch. They were supposed to be pink and blue but they turned out a little more red and green than I had hoped... They both still tasted delicious though!

I made a gender reveal cake for the party. Usually you ask the ultrasound tech to put the gender in an envelope, and you give it to a baker so that you yourself don't know the gender until you cut the cake. But my husband and I both wanted to hear the gender directly from the doctor. The cake reveal was just for our family.

I purchased a pink and aqua sprinkle mix from Sweetapolita to decorate the outside of the cake. The mix was called Jersey Shore :) The inside of the cake would be either pink or blue.

I made the onesie banner cake topper... it is also available in my shop.

We are all very excited, and time seems to be flying by! Baby T will be here so very soon!

My Samardzija puppy turned 9 and we celebrated with puppycakes!

I used Brown Eyed Baker's puppycakes recipe. They turned out perfectly and puppy really loved the peanut butter yogurt frosting! I liked that the recipe used whole wheat flour and applesauce.
