Look What You Made Me Do Cocktail

I saw these huge gummy snakes at Target and I instantly knew what I wanted to do with them. I am a big fan of Taylor Swift and love her new song Look What You Made Me Do. The music video is filled with snakes and I wanted to make a Look What You Made Me Do cocktail!

The drink is a green apple martini rimmed in red caramel... dripping down the glass! I topped it with a gummy snake and a Look What You Made Me Do food pick!

I'll be sipping one of these tomorrow on Halloween and singing...

But I got smarter, I got harder in the nick of time
Honey, I rose up from the dead, I do it all the time
I've got a list of names and yours is in red, underlined
I check it once, then I check it twice, oh!

Chocolate Deco Pens

I used Williams Sonoma's Chocolate Deco Pens and food picks from the Elizabeth Doo-Dah shop to decorate macarons from Laduree!

Chocolate Deco Pens are fun, easy to use and perfect for decorating smaller cookies, where you need a finer tip and more control.

Such a fun way to personalize your dessert bar!

Pineapple Doughnuts

I took these store bought doughnuts and turned them into pineapple doughnuts!
I made icing with confectioners sugar and pineapple juice.
I dyed the icing yellow.
I dipped the doughnuts in the icing and placed them back on the wire racks so the excess could drip off.

Then I took some white icing and made lines that crisscross.

Peter Rabbit Garden Cake

I put this cake together for Easter and thought I'd share it since I know Beatrix Potter and Peter Rabbit themed baby showers are very popular right now!

I didn't bake the cake... I just decorated it. I took a Chocolate Malt Layer Cake purchased from MILK BAR and decorated it with a fondant Peter Rabbit and royal icing veggies.

Happy Easter Deviled Eggs

I saw this idea on Pinterest and decided to give it a whirl. Luckily it wasn't a Pinterest fail!

This was super easy because my husband helped me and because of one super secret time saving thing we did. What did we do? Shhhhh... we bought precooked, peeled hard boiled eggs. So no boiling eggs, and no peeling!

To make them we just followed our favorite deviled egg recipe. The only added extra step is dying the eggs.

To dye the eggs, we put a half cup of water in 4 small bowls, and 3 drops of food coloring. The water looked dark but the eggs still come out a nice pastel color!

We let each of the eggs sit in the water for about 20 seconds and then took them out and set them on a paper towel to let the excess dye drip off.

Make sure to flip the egg over so that the both sides dry off. It only takes about 30 seconds for the eggs to dry and be ready for filling.

My husband, made the filling and put it into a piping bag. He then piped the filling into the colored eggs. It's easy and gives a nice finished look, but if you don't feel like piping, you can just spoon the filling into the eggs.

Our pretty finished eggs!

I put them on an oval platter for serving because I thought it looked like a giant Easter egg!

Happy Easter!

Milk Bar's Cornflake-Chocolate-Chip-Marshmallow Cookies

I really like Milk Bar... but I don't live or work in the city anymore so I haven't had anything from there in years. Cut to this weekend... I'm shopping at Target and I see a display of Milk Bar cookie mixes!

I have a thing for fun unique baking kits... I have tried a Crumbs cupcake kit, a Fatty Sundays do-it-yourself pretzel kit, and even a cake pop kit from Sweet Lauren's

I purchased the Cornflake-Chocolate-Chip-Marshmallow Cookie Mix and I was surprised at how well they turned out! They actually tasted like the cookies I used to get at Milk Bar!
 Toasting the cornflakes

They are loaded with butter so you get that great browned butter flavor, then the crispy cornflakes give you a crunch and the marshmallow gives the cookies a great chewiness.

Bold statement alert... I think this is my favorite kit so far!

Now if I could only get Milk Bar's cereal milk at Target...

New Grape Taste Test

I was feeling like I was the only person who hadn't tried the new Cotton Candy grapes... I couldn't find them anywhere. A friend would tell me they just found them at Whole Foods... but then I would show up and by the time I got there they were sold out.

I was finally able to find them at Fresh Direct! My husband and I decided we wanted to try the other new grapes as well, so we ordered 3 kinds and had a taste test this weekend.

I love cotton candy... but was disappointed by the Cotton Candy grapes. While they did have a strong cotton candy smell... both myself and my husband didn't think they tasted like cotton candy. The Cotton Candy grapes weren't crisp and they had a funny aftertaste.

The Flavor Promise grapes were very good and my husband liked them the best out of the 3 we tried. They were very sweet & crisp.

My favorite were the Moon Drop Grapes! They were sweet and the shape was very cool.Moon Drop grapes are longer than regular grapes. I think they would be a great addition to a cheese platter.

Barbecue Birthday

We celebrated my husband's birthday over the weekend! It was pretty low key but I thought I would share a few photos.

He recently mentioned that he wanted a charcoal grill and an alert went off in my head... this would be a great birthday present!

I love the classic Weber grill and decided to get him the blue Weber Performer Deluxe from Crate & Barrel because it would give him a prep table/work surface.

I found these fun grill themed birthday cards at Hello Lucky and I Loot Paperie .

And his birthday cake was homemade... a blue grill to match his gift!

Grill shaped mylar balloon!

Happy Birthday to my wonderful husband!

CRUMBS

My husband and I used to hit up Crumbs Bake Shop when we lived in Hoboken. We always went there at like 10pm on our way home from our adventures in the city. It was a nice way to cap off a good day. A cupcake and cold milk. Their cupcakes are very good but I think I like them more because of these memories. I saw this cupcake kit at Target this past weekend and decided we needed it. They had several varieties, my husband loves peanut butter so I brought the Peanut Butter Cup one home.

The kit does not include everything you need to make the cupcakes. You have to add your own butter, eggs, peanut butter and peanut butter cups.

They do include the Crumbs Bake Shop cupcake liners though!

Crumbs always gets the frosting to cake ratio perfect... and by that I mean that they understand that the cake is merely a vehicle for the frosting (lots and lots of frosting). And this kit also makes A LOT of frosting :)

These cupcakes are sweet... very very sweet!
Make sure you have lots of milk!

A Few Good Men... for Valentine's Day!

I am giving these GORGEOUS cookies to my sister for Valentine's day! (And I might have also gotten some for myself) These chocolate covered Oreos from Sweet & Saucy are almost too pretty to eat! But I did eat them... and they were delicious!

Quite the line up!

Ryan Gosling is my favorite :)

Hope you have a sweet Valentine's Day!
